Is Quick Share supported on non-Samsung Galaxy devices from other brands?You can use Google Quick Share on non- Samsung Galaxy Android devices and PCs (including Chromebooks). For more details, please refer to the question "Which devices support Quick Share?"

Are there any requirements or settings needed to receive files through Quick Share?To receive files from other nearby devices, your device’s screen must be turned on and the "Who can share with you" settings in Quick Share must be set to either “Contacts only” or “Everyone.” If the sender cannot find your device on their Quick Share screen, their devices and yours. However, devices logged into the same Samsung account can receive files from each other at any time, regardless of the "Who can share with you" settings.

What do each of the options in the "Who can share with you" settings in Quick Share mean?The options for "Who can share with you" are as follows.
- No one: No one can share with you.
- Contacts only: Only users saved in your Contacts with Samsung accounts can share with you.
- Everyone: Anyone nearby can share with you.
*Available only for 10 minutes: if checked, the option will be automatically switched to Contacts only or No one (if not signed on to Samsung account)
*Devices logged into the same Samsung account can always share with each other regardless of settings. -
Does Quick Share use mobile data?Share to devices nearby
- Files can be shared without using mobile data.
Share using QR code/Share to Contacts
- Mobile data usage is required. It is highly recommended to share large files through a Wi-Fi connection. -
Is there any limit on the number or size of files that can be shared at a time through Quick Share?For file sharing with nearby devices, there is no limitation on the number and size of files that can be shared.
For file sharing with QR codes and contacts, a maximum of 1,000 files can be transferred at a time. There is a size limitation of 10GB per file and 10GB per day that can be transferred.
With Private sharing, you can transfer up to 20 files and 200MB of data at a time. -
What types of files can be shared through Quick Share?For file sharing with nearby devices, there is no restriction on the file type that can be shared.
A variety of images, videos, audios, documents, APKs, URLs and other types of files can all be freely transferred.
For file sharing with QR codes and contacts, certain types of files are not supported:
Executables: .exe, .com, .bat, .cmd, .vbs, .reg, .msi.
With Private sharing, the following types of files can be transferred:- Images: "jpeg", "jpg", "png", "gif", "bmp", "webp", "heic", "dng"
- Videos: "webm", "mp4", "3gp", "3g2", "mkv"

What is the Private sharing option in Quick Share?To use Private sharing, tap the “More options” menu at the top of the Quick Share screen and select “Turn on Private sharing.”
Private sharing prevents others from screenshotting, saving or resending shared files.
You can also set an expiration time and date on the files to prevent the recipient’s access after the designated time.
It is recommended to use the Private sharing option to share sensitive files containing personal information or confidential files meant for a select person.

Supported PCs include Samsung Galaxy Books, including Qualcomm-based PCs released in 2020 or later (OS: Windows 10 2004 or later, Bluetooth driver: Intel version 22.50.02 or higher, Wi-Fi driver: Intel version 22.50.07 or higher). - Depending on the manufacturer and model, there may be restrictions on some or all of the functions of this feature.
- For file sharing with QR codes and contacts, a maximum of 1,000 files can be transferred at a time. There is a size limitation of 10GB per file and 10GB per day that can be transferred. The link will expire after two days. Sender's device requires a Samsung account, and both sender and receiver devices require Internet connection.

- The latest software update to your Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+ or S26 required."Share with Apple devices" is turned on by default in Settings. To send files to an Apple device, have the recipient turn on AirDrop to "Everyone for 10 minutes" then send photos and files. Then, open the content you want to send, tap Share > Quick Share and select the device. To receive files from an Apple device, ensure your Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+ or S26 is on the Quick Share receiving screen or change the receiving settings to "Everyone (Only for 10 minutes)" before the sender shares files via AirDrop.
To share with Apple devices, a Galaxy device with Quick Share app version 13.8.51.27 or later and Google Play Services version 26.11.xx or later is required. As of March 2026, "Share with Apple devices" on Galaxy is only supported on S26 Ultra, S26+ and S26 and is expected to be expanded to select flagship models.

- In order to share files with supported devices from other manufacturers, the devices must have Google Quick Share installed.
- Make sure to tap the Quick Share icon before choosing contacts to share with or turning on Private sharing option. For further details, refer to Step 1 of "Share to Devices Nearby."
- Requires a Samsung account and Internet connection. If the recipients do not have a Samsung account, they will receive a text message with a link to download the files.
- Quick Share is pre-installed on the Samsung Galaxy Book2 and later Galaxy book series models.
